Modification joke

I have recently fell behind on my mortgage with Flagstar and was applying for a modification. After them requesting documents numerous times ( which i sent each time ) they called me on December 18th to say they finally have a complete package and it will be submitted to underwriting within the next few days......fast forward 12 days ( which included 4 weekend days and christmas...i have never seen an underwriting decision anywhere near that quick ) they tell me today that i have been denied because there was no income because my employer was shut down......yes that did happen 18 months ago and i have been with a new firm for the past 18 months !!!! I am a 1099 employee so I do not get paystubs which is why they requested the last 3 months bank statements to show income which i supplied immediately 2 months ago .....the contact i spoke with at Flagstar said he has never seen a decision that quickly and he actually emailed his manager to look at the file again because even he saw the bank statements showing my income ....Its no wonder Flagstar gets so many complaints and receives millions in fines because they truly do not care about their customers

Flagstar Fined 10 Million by CFPB. 25 Minute Hold Time,

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
In September 2014, the Consumer Financial Prortection Bureau fined Flagstar 10 Million Dollars. Flagstar will also have to pay $27.5 Million to Loan Modification Victims. Flagstar was cited for problems such as 25 minute hold times, 50% call abandonment (where Flagstar either hung up on the borrower, the borrower got lost in a maze of voice prompts, or the borrower gave up waiting to talk to a human being. A Florida Law firm, Shuster & Saben, LLC will represent consumers who submitted loss mitigation packages to Flagstar after January 1, 2014, who did not receive an acknowledgement of their loss mitigation package or who were not told if there package was complete. The firm takes theses cases on a pure contingency fee basis. Flagstar Bank - Home Renovation Review from Port Saint Lucie, Florida

The worst bank ever. My home had to be renovated due to a flood and the insurance company cut the check to Flagstar as policy standards. This happened in November 2014. It is now January 2015 and i have not received the funds to complete my renovations. Document after document has been signed. The same document i signed back in October. This back is unprofessional and heartless. They must be stopped.

You aren't going to get the money. Flagstaff will want to pay the contractor.

You don't own the house.

Flagstaff owns it until you pay off the mortgage. That's how it works.

Instead of making a trip to Troy Michigan maybe you should try to come up with some mortgage payments.

Claim dept refuses to pay contractor which stops work

This nightmare started in Jan of this year and for a simple project that should have taken at most 3 months has now gone on for 10 months. Have experienced rude non-caring associates who, once they answer the phone, just lie to you.

It takes nearly 30 minutes waiting for someone to actually pick up the phone.

I had submitted invoices for payment and was told it would take 10 days for processing. After 3 weeks I was told that the invoices were lost and it would be expidited. After 12 weeks with me making calls, actually driving 12 hours from Tenn. to Troy and speaking with a "manager", and writing letters to the CEO, COO, President, and VP of Counsel, I got the check that paid the first invoice.

After now scheduling my contractor back to work things were going OK until I needed more money from the bank. I actually was able to get my insurance co to pay aditional funds directly to the contractor. I have paid for over $8,000 of the repairs while the claims department have sat on the money and invoices. I sent two letters to the President of the bank and to Consumer Financial Protection.

The letters do get responses but not action. It has now been 10 months since the water break and I am still waiting for the contractor to be paid so that we can finish.

Flagstar was found guilty and admitted to being wrong!

Read it: http://money.cnn.com/2014/09/29/real_estate/cfpb-flagstar-bank/index.html?iid=HP_LN Please share this article...we now have hope! While borrowers were trying to save their homes from foreclosure, Flagstar Bank sat on important documents and "drove borrowers into foreclosure," authorities said Monday. That led to over 2,000 foreclosures in the last three years, according to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The bureau said some loan modification applications that should have taken a few days to process took up to nine months to be reviewed. The delays were in part because the bank was understaffed: At one point, just 25 employees and a third-party contractor were assigned to handle 13,000 applications. Flagstar will pay $27.5 million to 6,500 victims of the delays, as well as a $10 million fine. It's also barred from acquiring certain types of new business until the government is convinced it can operate properly. The penalty is the CFPB's first under new mortgage rules.

Lost our home to Flagstar Bastards loan modification program

These people are the biggest swindling crooks, absolutely should be shut down. We were offered a loan modification proposal 4 years ago and had notarized papers from our bank and attorney had a 3 month window in which we had to continually write in a circle *** of letter of hardship that was return mail to them under certified mail they kept saying they didn't receive it but yet they signed for it. Had direct payments from my savings to them they said they didn't receive payment but my bank has all records of them taking it, my bank president says they are extremely crooked swindlers and it is an absolute lost deal with them a continuous circle *** they should be investigated and shut down they're too big we can't win anything against them, throw in the towel the feds need to step in. 2 days after christmas our home was foreclosed and within a week before we could even find a new home and remove our belongings the locks were changed. Stay away from these absolute crooks. People need Federal help with these crooks, I work have a good job, why can't they live up to their word like most good ol American citizens do instead of being somehow protected crooks.

Loan Title in Lieu of foreclosure

I have been trying to get a deed in lieu of foreclosure for months. I was laid off about 6 years ago because of a plant closing so took an early retirement.

Because of our reduced income on Social Security I exhausted my life savings keeping ,y mortgage current. Now savings is gone and went through the whole process of loan modification because I was told I had to do that first. Received a letter sating they received my loan modification package but then the run around began. Started getting letters that I sent incomplete package, would go over list on phone fax the required information and then receive another letter stating the file was still incomplete, they kept asking for updated bank statements which I kept sending.

Have never spoken with my assigned contact person who is Maria, whom I don't think really exists. Then I was told they had the package and it was referred to underwriting, but never heard anything back I kept calling but never received an answer. I inquired about cash for keys, and got another runaround, and now 6 months later am no further ahead. I live in NJ which requires court action before foreclosure but never heard anything from anyone.

I keep telling them I want to turn the home over to them and get some assistance to help me move. When we sent the original hardship letter I explained I had a heart attack and wife is also ill and need help with move and money for first and last months rent, but no response. I am about ready to walk out. I am thinking about just calling them telling them all utilities have been turned off and keys are under the door mat.

But not sure I can even do that.

Who is liable for the home if we leave it?

If anyone is starting a class action suit against this bank I would be interested in joining it.

Flagstar Bank - Loan Payment Review from Kennewick, Washington

We had a loan with them. When we asked for a pay off amount.

They had to send it by mail. We waited 17 days for our letter for payoff. The payoff was for 6 days earlier. We had to pay extra in hope it was enough.

We over paid them $12 over. I figured it cost us about $72.00 more, because we had to account for the 6 days and the 3-5 days it took for our check to reach them. Probably could have save us $125-$150 more if they would have told us the amount when we called the first time. Then we had to wait 32 days for our lien release and title.

When you call them you get thier call center, and it is those folks who take all the complaints, because management is to scared to deal with any complaints. I will never do any business with FLAGSTAR ever again. Forgot to mention we paid our loan off 4 years early. I have used banks from new york to los angeles and never had any problems.

This is the worst bank. I hope they go under soon.

1028 Complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

Flagstar currently has 1028 complaints filed with the CFPB yet all they do is forward your complaint to the bank, take whatever BS the bank offers for a response and close their file. Not only is Flagstar a nightmare, the very same organizations established by the Federal Government to assist consumers with these *** is a failure too. This bank has been fined close to $400 million dollars in the past few years for fraudulent lending practices. They rip off the Feds themselves and they are allowed to continue to operate. The lowly consumer is screwed. I filed complaint with...are you ready.... The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, Senator Elizabeth Warren, The Better Business Bureau, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, The US Treasury Department and good ol Barak Obama himself....the results? Absolutely nothing. The government established RESPA Guidelines so these *** wouldn't get away with the *** they pull, yet they refuse to enforce them. Waste of time, waste of energy, waste of tax dollars.

So... What issue did you have?

Or did I miss the part where you said it? I have a mortgage through Flagstar bank so I'm curious.

They force placed hazard insurance on my property and increased my payment by $850 a month because my ex husband was listed as a named insured on my policy. They refused to accept my usual payment and referred me for foreclosure.

Thankfully I was able to refinance with a reputable bank and get the *** away from them. Three months after I refinanced they sent a *** it to my house to inspect my property, with no financial interest mind you, and reported to my homeowners insurer that my property was vacant. There are six people, two dogs and a cat residing in my home. Vacant?

I wish..intentionally trying to cause me problems?

I don't know. seems that way.
