I had a loan with Flagstar and generally had a miserable underwriting experience. I refinanced out of Flagstar and onto a new bank, and Flagstar never filed the satisfaction of their original note with the county, even though we paid them to do so.

We went to close on our home last week and learned a few days before closing that Flagstar still has that lien outstanding. Contacted Flagstar, asked for some urgency, and it's been a week so far with no resolution.

Their research department won't take phone calls so we have no ETA on resolution either. Weak.
